Every painting begins with a question, not an answer.
My work is an exploration of color, texture, movement and space. I work primarily in mixed media, allowing each painting to develop through an evolving process of adding, removing, layering and responding to what happens on the canvas.
For me, the artwork is not simply about the finished image. It is about the process of discovery.
My paintings develop through an intuitive process of adding, removing, layering and responding to what happens on the canvas. Acrylic paint, pastel, charcoal, spray paint, recycled materials and found elements become part of the process.
Shapes emerge, disappear and sometimes return in an entirely different form. The finished painting is the result of that continuing conversation between the materials, the composition and the artist.
